As we draw near to the end of the first visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the United States, we can begin to reflect on the themes he addressed. My reflections are rooted in my own perspective as a Seventh-day Adventist pastor who, nonetheless, spent many years as a member and a lay leader within the Catholic Church. It's now been 2.5 months during which FUX News has claimed they hired Rove to be an "independent" political analyst without, during that time, revealing that he is advising Sen. McCain and that he is far from independent since he has spent his adult life as a Republican political operative.

The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...
